Where it came from
Casumo launched in 2012 out of Malta, at a point when most casino sites were still designed as desktop pages that happened to load on a phone. It took the opposite view, built the interface for a handset first, and collected a run of industry design awards for it. The British site operates under a Gambling Commission licence.
The signature idea was to wrap play in a progression system — an "adventure" with belts, levels and trophies earned through activity. Fourteen years on that layer is still there, and it remains the most divisive thing about the brand. What has aged better is the restraint elsewhere: large game tiles, a search box that responds as you type, and a front page that does not try to sell you six things at once.
Content and live tables
Slots come from NetEnt, Play'n GO and Red Tiger alongside newer independents such as Hacksaw Gaming, which gives the shelf a slightly more current feel than the group-owned operators manage. Live dealer runs on Evolution and includes Casumo-branded tables, so there are blackjack and roulette rooms populated only by the operator's own players.

Verdict
Who it suits
Short sessions, a specific game in mind, or a first casino account — Casumo handles all three better than anything else we shortlisted. Open it, find a game, play, close it. Nothing in the way.
Longer-term, whether you enjoy it depends on your tolerance for the progression system. Belts and trophies are cosmetic and change nothing about the games, but they are visible, and if that kind of layer irritates you it will keep irritating you.
The gap to second place
Two-tenths separate Casumo from PokerStars Casino, and the split is straightforward: Casumo wins on lobby design and supplier freshness, PokerStars wins on app coverage and on having a poker room and sportsbook behind the same login. If the missing iOS app matters to you, that comparison flips.

That is not a criticism of Casumo specifically — it is how the model works — but it is a reason to set your deposit and time limits at registration rather than later.
